Living in Hull for a short period saw me working in the Business Contact Centre for nPower, one of the top energy providers in the UK. I was responsible for dealing with a range of incoming calls from existing business clients. Shortly before leaving I was involved in a project to review the call centre KPI’s with the aim of putting improvement measures in place.

My initial role started as an inbound order processor, handling orders for existing customers and setting up new accounts, but quickly developed into a Helpdesk role, dealing with a variety of queries from existing and new customers.Given my experience and skills, I was often requested to assist the training department for new employees, helping at stages from introduction through to supporting new staff members in their transition into the live environment.6 months prior to my leaving, I was accepted for a Reserve Team Leader role, which saw me shadowing and assisting one of the Call Centre Team Leaders in her day to day role, and providing cover on days when she was not present at work. This quickly saw me taking on Team Leader tasks with regularity and consistency.
