Mapmatic offers professional measurement services including Land Surveying, Building Surveying, Utility Surveying & Site Engineering. Continual growth over the last 8 years has led me to now employ and manage 11 full-time staff, giving me further skills and experience in management and leadership. We have an extensive range of knowledge in all areas of surveying so we can be more cost-effective to our clients, the directors who take most enquiries are also hands-on and understand all aspects of surveying from having many years of experience in the industry. We have a medium-sized team so we’re cost-effective whilst also having the resources and experience to undertake any size of project.

5 years industry experience working for a major construction firm carrying out a wide spectrum of site engineering and surveying. As the main contractor’s engineer I was responsible for quantifying and ordering materials, checking drawings & raising queries with Architects/Engineers, QA of all work carried out, permits, reconciliations, hot works, and checking temporary works.I was also responsible for all of the setting out, including initial site control and set up, setting out for bulk earthworks, setting out for groundworks, setting out for concrete frame and steel frame and set out for bricklaying, and I have been widely utilised to carry out Cut & Fill volume analysis for several large Vinci sites.My other responsibilities included checking all sub contractor’s work and providing as built surveys throughout the building process; working for the main contractor, I was actively involved in making sure all Health and Safety legislation on projects was adhered to. I also managed 2 other engineers and an undergraduate which included organising their day-to-day activities, training and show them the processes at Vinci, an experience which helps me in my current role as Managing Director at Mapmatic.

As a senior member of the land surveying department, I was jointly responsible for handling new enquiries, the preparation of quotations, all aspects of site survey work and the preparation and production of Autocad Plans of sites surveyed including building refurbishments, new build industrial/residential, power stations, Brownfield regeneration projects, Greenfield sites, major road improvements, MOD sites, flood risk assessments and boundary disputes.I also gained construction site experience including leveling, providing control, T.B.M’s and setting out groundworks, grid lines, roads, boundaries, piling and holding down bolts. Along with producing final Autocad drawings, I can use 3D ground modeling software LSS which can be used for Cut & Fill exercises and for creating 3d fly-throughs for planning purposes.My other roles included the general QA of survey equipment, including calibration and general maintenance of theodolites, GPS systems, and digital levels. I also was charged with liaising with our hardware supplier, Leica Geosystems (UK) and implementing new software/hardware solutions.
