I am an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer, Looking for contract roles within the Mechanical Design field, using Solid Works (3D) and AutoCAD LT (2D). I have worked in the Engineering Industry for over 30 years in different sectors. Firstly as a Fabricator/Welder in an engineering workshop for eleven years, and for over 20 years now as a Mechanical Design Engineer. I moved on to the drawing office where I have been using my CAD skills together with my workshop experience as a Design Engineer.I have worked in a variety of different sectors from Pharmaceutical, Oil & Gas, Heavy lifting, and in the sewage/wastewater industry for nearly 8 years on a variety of projects for water authorities such as Wessex Water, Southern Water, Anglian Water, Thames Water, and in both Northern and southern Ireland. As a mechanical design engineer, I have been responsible for delivering packages to various clients and contractors that are cost effective, viable and efficient design solutions.I have dealt with projects from beginning to end, liaising with clients to discuss their design requirements, and turning them into working solutions that meet the customers’ needs, designing any ancillary equipment required, producing workshop instructions, test schedules, installation instructions and commissioning schedules, Operation and Maintenance manuals for the equipment supplied, when required, onsite installations, Site Receipt Tests, Site Acceptance Tests among others.I am able to offer a wide range of life and vocational skills and relish the challenge of putting them into practice.
