For the 6th grade science fair I wanted to make a machine move on it's own. Already spending my days building a tree house, building go-karts and Frankenstein remote controlled vehicles. My first intuition was a magnet ring angled in another ring of magnets, cool but limited to the force applied. Then living near a air force base hearing fighter just fly just above the roof tops I contemplated a jet engine where it propelled itself. Finally I had enough, I wanted something substantial. Then through strain and open mindedness it became clear to me, the lever. a quick run through the basics in my mind and realizing that a lever could itself be used as a piston and connect the two sides of it. Having been only in the 6th grade I didn't want my age to cost me my idea so I made a working solar powered miniature car winning me 2nd place and forgot all about it. In 2014 I rediscovered the idea and have been working on it diligently since. It's taken alot of grit but I've had success and I've accomplished more than what even I thought was possible. A prototype made of trash for a lagitamate more energy out than in scared the hell out of me. And now in 2024 a hydraulic version than will clearly work although I fear to be too powerful.
