Mechanical Design Engineer with the Army Corps of Engineers since 2018. Roles and ResponsibilitiesEngineering Team Lead- Lead multidisciplinary design teams in the production of Plans, Specification, and Design Documents for the improvement and rehabilitation of waterway structures.- Create project schedules and budgets for the complete production of the design package. - Coordinate with Project Management and Project Sponsors regarding design decisions.- Coordinate Site Visits with the Design Team to project sites in South Florida.Mechanical Design Engineer- Create complete Mechanical, Plumbing, and HVAC plans, specifications, and Design Documents for the construction of large flood control pump stations, gated culverts, and spillways.- Design documentation includes calculations for pump head, ventilation, heat gain, fuel consumption, etc.- Designs include ancillary equipment and their respective calculations, such as, cooling water pumps, lubrication water pumps, fuel pumps, trash conveyance systems, etc. - Coordinate within a multidisciplinary team to complete design projects within schedule and budget.Additional Responsibilities - engineering support during construction- mechanical inspections of completed works.- Sponsor for summer intern
