As the American Art Research Intern, I assisted with collections research and interpretation to foster ideas for future-minded exhibitions on a wide-range of art historical topics and time periods, ranging from history painting, early American portraiture, folk art, modernism, and modern design. My duties included researching paintings, sculpture, and works on paper in the permanent collection dating from the Revolutionary War to World War II. I aided in the development of didactics like in-gallery texts and object labels, also contributing to choosing paintings for the exhibit, "Hamiltion: The Art of ReMaking History."

BôriBrasi Galeria was an art gallery in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil providing visual & audio art, public events, and holistic services to the people of Santo Antônio and Pelourinho. A black box gallery and cultural center, the inaugural exhibit "Repatriação" featured Afro-descendant artists native to NYC and Bahia. “Repatriação” displayed Marcos da Silva Costa’s painted love letter to his mother and all Donas of Pelourinho. Stephanie Hewett premiered an Afro-Caribbean and Afro-Brazilian soundscape. Arismendy Feliz, Anthony Prince Leslie, and Felli Maynard exhibited still-life and portraits that honor the Black gaze. An ofrenda (altar) dedicated to Orishas (Yoruba dieties) featured artworks by Afro-diasporic and Queer ancestors assembled in collaboration with VisualAIDS, The LGBT Community Center, and the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture. Visitors blessed it with photos, flowers, crystals, and other offerings. They participated in guided tours, networking events, creative programming, and supported local business partners of the gallery. Repatriated connected with one another and with locals, expanding their networks and chosen family abroad. At its core, BôriBrasi Galeria was a cultural arts center by and for the community. It was made possible by donors from across the USA and Brazil, totaling $5,000.00 for anthropological research, historical field work, construction materials, maintenance fees, installations costs, collaborator stipends, rent and utilities.

Queer|Art is pleased to announce the 2019-2020 Queer|Art|Mentorship Annual Exhibition: “ARCANUM,” open from October 29, 2020 through January 7, 2021. The video game exhibition features new and ongoing work by the graduating Fellows of the organization’s celebrated Queer|Art|Mentorship (QAM) program and comprises interactive multimedia installations and events focused on revitalizing the intergenerational and interdisciplinary art of storytelling. Combining both virtual components and outdoor activations throughout New York City, the sprawling exhibition includes a cyber gallery with game-like installations, outdoor performances, artist talks, live-streamed readings, and screenings. “ARCANUM” is curated by Anthonywash.Rosado, and includes work by: Brian Gonzalez, Patrick G. Lee, María José Maldonado, Felli Maynard, Olaiya Olayemi, Sarah Sanders, and Sarah Zapata.

Restoring The Heart of Ni'TíñaoThis project was a traveling archive of art and information curated and created by Anthony Rosado. It refuted Eurocolonial claims of Native Caribbean subdivision and extinction. It traversed borders to inspire documentation and story-sharing of residents gardening rich cultures of low-income communities, ensuring our stories are no longer exploited and capitalized. This exhibit was installed for display in Loisaida INC, Arts East NY, and El Museo De Los Sures.Anthony Rosado’s work focuses on historical, indigenous Caribbean definitions of identity and the influence of their values, spirituality, horticulture, and language today, as well as our relation to these definitions right here in Loisaida. His exhibition aims to refute euro-colonial claims that the Ní’Tiñao were a divided peoples who went extinct. Via art and storytelling, We Exist, he tells us.

Structured and directed weekly social justice and African-centered curriculum and rehearsals to professionally prepare Ifetayo Youth Ensemble (IYE) and Cultural Arts Program (CAP) Scholars for year-round performances with partnering organizations. Culminated tracking assignments and class schedules to ensure IYE and CAP scholars' technical and artistic development, and comprehension of African American cultural history. Led IYE recruitment outreach strategic meetings, and logistics management providing constant updates of promotional materials for all Ifetayo programming and events. Liaison and correspondence between Ifetayo and museums and cultural art organizations, which increased participation of longstanding partnerships. Performance and field trip logistics leadership and transportation coordination. CAP Progress Note data collection, entry, editing, production, and distribution to all CAP faculty and families. Reported to Assistant Executive Director, ED, and Artistic Director to sustain systems that ensured learner achievement, family involvement, faculty support, efficient tuition payment, and enrollment assessment for bi weekly, bi-monthly, and annual reports. Managed documents and correspondence of admissions applicant information, student enrollment process, and scholarship tuition benefits for the IYE and CAP Programs. Promoted to the Hiring Team Manager for incoming CAP Faculty. Editor in Chief of Ifetayo Newsletter, which produces quarterly issues of articles written by and for the Ifetayo community. Ballet Dance instructor and Ifetayo Youth Ensemble teacher.

THE GET OUTAnthony Rosado curated this two-part performance series in Fall 2016 and Summer 2017 at Starr Bar in Bushwick. The series exhibited the artistry of revolutionary and evolutionary musicians standing in their truths through ingenuity and poetic lyricism; which featured works by Christopher Lovell, CyberBruja, Maria Jose, Yhung Sky, Yzriah, JenDog LoneWolf, Eternile, Don Mikel, Mi Casa No Es Su Casa, and Shaa Hebrew. This event was for us; by us. Vendors kept 100% of their profit. 80% of $10-15 suggested donations at the door went directly to the artists. 20% supported Starr Bar.

Anthony Rosado curated the literary anthology, titled “GentrifiConversation Acknowledging Complicity: Actions to Mend & End Arts-Induced Mass Displacement of Black & Brown Low Income Families” in the book, "Making History Bushwick."Making History Bushwick is a first-of-its-kind document, presenting a contemporaneous snapshot of a vital and growing arts community in the heart of New York City. With more than 400 artworks, essays by noted writers, critics, community activists and members of the thriving Bushwick scene, the book presents an alternative, inclusive, present-tense model for history making. The handsome full-color hardcover volume is the first publication from Arts in Bushwick, a 488 pages with a limited edition of 2000 copies.

Five Myles Gallery granted McKenzie Angelo-Martinez and Anthony Rosado the privilege to curate visual art and performance installations thematically centered on progress during this era of gentrification’s mass displacement, which featured works by Chazz Giovanni, Mckenzie Angelo-Martinez, Mi Casa No Es Su Casa, and Anthony Rosado.

Coordinated Fresh Education Residency at MS 306, training educators in youth-led arts-immersion activities to strengthen their Global History, Writing, and Science syllabi and pedagogical practices. Generated and administered workshops which supplied result-driven tasks and objectives that propelled students to memorize classroom lessons via lyrical writing, set construction, interpretive dance, and music video production. Loisaida Inc. Center provided space in Summer 2015 for NYC-born artists to co-curate the performance and visual art series "en casa afuera." Encouraging the artists & witnesses to engage with one another, the experience is interactive. As gentrification erases the hirstory and identities of native residents, we gathered for the sake of collective spiritual healing. This exhibition featured works by Mckenzie Angelo-Martinez, Chazz Giovanni, Jonathan Gonzalez, Stephanie Mota, Adam Rhodes, Anthony Rosado, and Yoira Santos.

Anthony Rosado curated an artist lecture series in collaboration with Bushwick Art Crit Group. 5 Visual artists native to Bushwick presented works responding to effects of the gentrification that exotifies our community's name for the sake of cultural capital, networking, resources, exposure, and more. As most gentrifying members of Bushwick's community reap benefits from said "beautification," cultural displacement is quickening the erasure of our history and our peoples in Bushwick. This event featured works by Danielle De Jesus, Noelle Helleny, JenDog LoneWolf, Bianca Perez, and Anthony Rosado.

Managed day-to-day calendar updates, meeting schedules, parent tours, data archive and entry, and expenses correspondence to the Director of Operations. Responsibilities included document organization, office maintenance, executed catalog orders, classroom cleaning, library development, monthly newsletter production, bi-weekly admissions and budgeting report review. Reported to the Director of Education for curriculum revision meetings, parent tour updates, and registrant enlistment appraisal. Taught courses to enhance physical, verbal, social, communication skills, and creative practice of youth via gymnastics, Ballet, Hip Hop Dance, Sports, Music (instrument and voice) and Visual Art. Organized and oversaw weekly entertainment occasions, which included scheduling and directing assignments to weekend staff.

Teacher’s assistant: Communication, team work, sensory, movement, language, and other forms of early childhood development to prepare “friends” aged two months to five years for kindergarten.

Administrative duties included scheduling interviews and tours, directing interviewees and tour attendants, signing off and delivering packaging within the building, answering and forwarding phone calls, filing and organizing of applications, application data entry, copying and archiving documents digitally and physically, and the maintenance of the admissions hall lobby.

Tour guide for students aged 4-17, used a theme of kinesiology. As kinesiologists we discussed the way animals (including humans) move in their environment. Educated passersby of the museum on objects in each of the museum’s permanent halls.

Intern who managed mindbodydancer online database, aided in the organization of Dancing Through College & Beyond and other events to immerse the organization within the community, contacted potential investors, and marketed (online, flyers, etc.) throughout Brooklyn.
