I was raised in Mitchell, Nebraska and received sports medicine training at the University of Wyoming. I then joined the Army and completed the Army-Baylor Masters of Physical Therapy program in 1994. In 2008 I went back to Baylor to earn my doctorate in physical therapy. I received a Certification in Athletic Training in 1994 and a certification as an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist in 2003. I am a myofascial therapist and was recognized by the Surgeon General as one of the best clinicians in the military. I retired from the Army after 20 years as a Combat Veteran.I have worked with athletes of all ages and caliber for more than 20 years and have a Certification in Athletic Training. I have experience working with all combative sports, Olympic and high school team sports. My focus when treating athletes is to keep them as engaged with their sport as possible during all phases of their treatment and rehabilitation. For the last 15 years I have been a Nationally recognized subject matter expert in gait, biomechanics and orthotic (shoe insert) prescription and fabrication. This has evolved into a unique practice and I am one of a handful of Physical Therapists in the country that can conduct a comprehensive gait analysis and fabricate my own custom orthotics. I’ve had phenomenal success treating patients who had failed to improve with cortisone injections, conventional physical therapy, surgery and sometimes a dozen different orthotic attempts.My physical therapy intervention is a manual/hands on therapy approach that combines 20 years of conventional orthopedic advanced training and certification with holistic myofascial release techniques and a genuine personal caring approach. I’ve discovered cranial sacral therapy is extraordinarily useful in treating conditions for which people take life time medications.
