While at Square I led a team that retooled 300 bespoke microservices into a fleet of uniform, Kubernetes-compatible containers. Later, I led a team developing a blockchain-inspired ledger based on double-entry accounting responsible for remitting billions of dollars in merchant sales every month. During my tenure at Square I was promoted to Principal Engineer (L7) as a result of my leadership work. I regularly reviewed software designs, interviewed hundreds of engineering job candidates, and guided the engineering promotion process. I executed many smaller projects, some of which included a consolidation of our service registry to create a single source of truth for our services, developer tools that improved velocity, and developed a help request queueing process that reduced average IAM-related access ticket times by hours.
