Anthony creates cascading design impacts by connecting patterns that scale from space planning to urban design. His unique approach establishes building blocks that influence the environmental, social, and economic impacts of climate design.----------Anthony uses project based research to provide opportunities to test new ideas for application while intern research programs, which Anthony has led more than 200 fellows to date, allows for a deeper penetration into broader topics. Through these approaches Anthony uses climate design drivers to reveal transformational patterns at different scales to apply in an alternative context. These building blocks organize how structures work together to create sustainable communities.Anthony’s material chemistry research of building products uncovered patterns in material ingredients that resulted in a scalable and understandable approach to a complex science. By simplifying how design teams address complicated material attributes he created understandable building blocks of touch, proximity, and scale, to demystify designers’ challenges with selecting healthful materials.He has shared multiple approaches to sustainable design through more than 70 speaking engagements that include the AIA Los Angeles 2dC Symposium, Dwell on Design, and others. He is also a contributing writer for Metropolis Magazine with upwards of 60 published and republished works. His voice has also been requested for feature articles like the (Australia) AIA’s Architecture Bulletin.Anthony has also provided his expertise to the AIA's Design Data Exchange development team to shape the reporting methodology for the redeveloped AIA 2030 commitment tool which impacts how more than 400 signatories report.Anthony weaves a ribbon of climate design messaging into every available opportunity. On several occasions he has even taken his advocacy further by performing stand-up comedy onstage to bring a different kind of climate impact messaging to the public.
