I was the Digital Video Surveillance and Security and Wireless Networked Architect for the SDCoE, brought into the larger, more complex projects for homeland security, municipals, transportation, education, healthcare, distribution and manufacturing. Researched, developed and design dozens of complex projects for multiple institutions and organizations.Healthcare - Patient MonitoringI was brought into a healthcare provider to evaluate the technical requirements for an opportunity. There were a large number of staff in attendance, including the IT Director, who informed us that the previous five vendors stated that what they need could not be done. I, of course, saw this as a challenge. The top floors of the facility included high-risk patients. They required 24/7 monitoring of these high-risk patients to minimize liability. This monitoring needed to be done off-site at a central command and control monitoring installation by trained healthcare operators. The operators must have the ability to talk to the patient and call the nurse from the nursing station. The Nurse Call Station was a legacy system with no SDK. Integration would have been a lengthy, expensive process, if at all possible. The IT Director reiterated it wasn’t possible, based on the research from the previous five vendors.I suggested using cameras with two-way audio for remote communications with the patients, and using the i/o ports of the camera to trigger the bathroom emergency pull switch to call the nurse to that specific room. Bewildered and apprehensive, they demanded a demo to prove it could work. I created a prototype in my lab and used Milestone Xprotect as the video management system software, adding “Talk” and “Call Nurse” overlay buttons onto the live video feed for the operators, and presented the prototype to the group. The Nurses called me MacGyver. It was successfully deployed by the delivery team, and offered to other healthcare providers.

I provided system analysis, security system integration, project management, and wireless expertise for the development, design and deployment of a Homeland Security Video System for the City of Chicago, Chicago Public Schools, Chicago Transit Authority and Navy Pier, Chicago, Illinois.Public High School Pilot Program The project included the analysis, evaluation, design and implementation of a physically security system that provided security personnel and school administrators, along with a centralized school security office, with two primary requirements: 1) Facial identification at 30-40 feet, and 2) Near 100% corridor coverage.Historically, they were able to see a person-of-interest, but not be able to recognize them due to the limited resolution and frame rates of the existing cameras and limitation of the video management system software. Provided an evaluation and design, using megapixel cameras and increased coverage, along with video management system configuration that dramatically increased the effectiveness and efficiency of the physical security system. I wrote the initial business plans, which introduced up to $2.5 million in venture capital funding and provided leadership in operational development and strategic visioning while managing both online and offline marketing action plans. I worked with venture capitalists on short-term and long-term goals, schedules, human resources, budgets, marketing strategies and provided leadership in planning efforts, target marketing, forecasts and budgeting. I also contributed to writing the patent of the Hyperlock technology with patent attorney and with presentation for U.S. Patent Office.

I wrote a strategic business plan, which introduced $1.3 million dollars in capital investment from parent company to implement an entertainment multimedia division. Negotiated distribution agreements with distributors, for every major market, with up to a 40% advance structure.

I assisted in creating a new company with new shareholder structure, developing the plan that included every facet of operations, including target marketing, sales forecasts and departmental budgets.I successfully conceptualized written plans and processes for strategic alliances with such companies as Warner Publisher Services, Fuji Film, Coca-Cola, Sony Pictures, Broadway Video and twelve foreign licensed companies agreements. •Negotiated and contracted almost one thousand license and talent acquisitions from 1985 through 1994
