CurrentMy current area of interest is a combination of: (1) Building Organic Habitats using Indigenous Architectural approach, and (2) Rural Youth Empowerment in the non-profit domain. Centre for Indigenous Architecture (CFIA) promotes Wellness through Holistic Architecture. Effectively accomplishing this by the use of rejuvenating, earthy elements of Heritage construction techniques, complemented by contemporary technology and embellished with modern concepts of utility and decor. Located 85 kms from Chennai and 45 kms before Pondicherry, ARULVILLE is our loving tribute to Indigenous / Regenerative Architecture. Rammed Earth Foundations & Walls, Exposed Brick Walls, Roofing styles such as Madras Terrace are among some of the native techniques employed. Industrial products like Cement, Steel and Paint were used minimally. Wood was conserved by using old timber pillars, while also opting for reusable concrete rafters etc ( to avoid use of timber).The campus is built on an acre of land, with a Villa, an Amphitheatre, Kitchen - Dining hall, a few manmade waterbodies - each a work of art. Arulville is available on rent for family getaway / family functions or for conducting Outbound Training Programmes in a rural setting.
