When I built my first gaming website with cartoons, the graphics is what fed my curiosity. I wanted to learn more about computers can do. I rented a gaming server and ended up with multi-hundreds of users from all over the world.Computer software sparked an internal flame that fueled my career as a seasoned Information Technology leader.Here are 7 things about me and how I work:I converted onsite computers to remote for 80 employees in 3 days. Configuring profiles, loading VPN clients and remote applications on laptops wasn’t the hard part, it was creating a first-time structured procurement process. It helped me become more proficient in inventory management. Executive leadership and end users were “shocked” at not only the speed, but the quality of the conversion as well.I am proud of the 5-star excellent rating I received for leading first level technology support for 450+ employees. Support was for a diverse range of hardware, software, and LAN/WAN network services. Implementing a third-party cloud-based CRM enterprise-wide helped keep sales’ teams organized and productive. It tapped into my business analyst skills, co-migrating big data to the new database and evaluating vendors, my energy was in the daily interaction resolving technical issues.Growing up in Hawaii I was a frequent surfer. Riding the waves helped me face my fears and gave me more confidence. It taught me the meaning behind leaving your comfort zone. I now speak in front of audiences totaling over hundreds of attendees talking about the importance of customer service.My people-first mindset leading direct reports is what helped me transform a dysfunctional team into working collaboratively. Replacing blame and shame with our “why”, focusing on strengths, and fostering trust are the strategies I used to build team engagement.When I enhance technical standard operating procedures, I craft it to align with company policies, ensure it is simple to read, and include specific expectations related to SLAs.I troubleshoot network equipment and remediate virus through the lens of the customer.
