About Anthony Darling

I have been working in technology for the last 20+ years. I started out with computers even before that when I learned I could use them to help me compose music. From that point I knew that I would be working in the technology field. I have worked with mostly Microsoft operating systems from NT 3.51 through the most current. I have specialized in enterprise backups and storage management for the last 7 years and really enjoy that area. When I was introduced to virtualization technology a few years ago, I was hesitant to believe all the claims. I started testing on my own and soon realized that this powerful technology was going to change things again in the technology world and so I started learning everything I could about it. In addition to these items, I have also seen the server architecture change drastically over the years and because of my experience in this am now a strong proponent of using a blade infrastructure in combination with an external storage array to make the most efficient use of resources.My goal now is to take these three main areas of experience I have had throughout my career and put them together. I strongly believe that by combining blade servers with a SAN (FC or iSCSI) infrastructure and a virtualization platform you can have a very powerful solution to problems that have plagued technology for years.
