Not only is he an excellent Designer (one of the best), he is an excellent Frontend Engineer as well. I haven't met many people with his combination of skills, being both a beautiful UI/UX Designer and a software hacker at heart. He also stays on "beyond" the cutting edge. He is the one leading the pack basically, he "creates" the best practices. Not many people are that far into the future. In addition, one of the side projects we worked on together was a JavaScript library like React at the time. He reimplemented those ideas in a way clearer, simplified, clean, and more compact way, that also fit well within our existing package management system at the time that we used at Segment (before webpack took over). Very few are capable of thinking in such high-level abstractions, let alone making something practical out of them. Finally, he was always willing to mentor me, and teach me the secrets of UI/UX design in a way that I could understand. He has a good heart and is a good companion as well, and is an inspiration to have on your team. Designing and building DLS – the Airbnb design language system – that supports 300+ designers and multiple businesses. On this team I worked on redesigning the search filter interface for the main Airbnb product to make it more accessible, user friendly, and to allow us to extend into multiple product tiers in the future.While on this team I led the design of the Airbnb Developer site. This brought together all of the documentation and tools from every team at Airbnb into a central location. The goal was to significantly increase developer productivity. I led the design, coordinated teams, ran workshops, and ran research sessions.
