Facebook App Reliability• Deep dived into crash data to analyze, triage, and push solutions to improve the Facebook android app. All while recognizing patterns of issues and working to prevent them from being released.• Worked closely with product teams to improve their feature performance and reliability on the Facebook Android application by helping analyze and debug app issues. Services • Lead Developer of dynamic datastore that allows internal customers to create/update/tag/filter their data as they see fit. Took over leadership of the project in its infancy and designed and developed (with team) several new features e.g., data replication across regions, extensive search and filtering, data versioning, and others.• Took ownership of a catalog service which was in keep the lights on mode with no documentation and no other developer that knew about it. The current process takes upwards of 12 hours utilizing 64 CPUs with on a subset of the data.• Previously using sequential RPG code, the new application now leverages Java and the Akka framework to accomplish the same tasks with all data in only 30 minutes on 32 CPUs with the possibility to scale horizontally.• Application profiling using VisualVM and HealthCenter to identify bottleneck areas and design efficient solutions.
