Born Dublin Ireland in 1950 I was taken to London in 1958 to live with my mother and grandmother. I attended Brentwood Boarding School for Boys and subsequently the University of East London, or as it was then South East Essex Technical College from where I received an architectural diploma MSAAT. I worked as a draughtsman for R.E.Eagan & Co. a precast concrete engineers and John McAlpine, an architects in Knightsbridge London After the death of my mother and step-father I spent 3 years travelling in Europe including 2 years living in Switzerland where I supported myself by working as an itinerant artist and as a performer in a travelling circus. Upon my return to the UK I used my architectural experience to good end when I joined a builders merchants. I stayed within this industry for the next 13 years becoming the Southern Area manager for a major UK building materials wholesaler. During this time I also studied for and was awarded a BA in business Studies In 1986 I decided on a change. I sold my home and moved to Greece, where I owned and operated first, a second hand bookshop, and later what became the largest glazing business on the island. I returned to Ireland in early 2005 having seen the direction the Greek economy was moving in. Since my return, I have attempted to put my experience to good use in the community and social sector. I have made use of opportunities offered to gain further experience, training, and knowledge. Since being awarded a pass with distinction in Social and Civil Information, (FETAC Level 6) I have made myself available on a voluntary basis to advise and assist members of my immediate community. It is my wish to use my cumulative experience for the aid and betterment of the vulnerable in our society.
