I love change and learning. To describe my personality succinctly, I would say that I love everything that scares me. I don't mean this in an adrenaline junkie kind of way, but in an uncomfortable kind of way. When it's uncomfortable, I learn so much more and that really drives me to do all the things I've never done before and learn all things about myself even when it's not necessarily good. I strive to learn and change who I am, how I lead, and how I work every day.Leadership and helping others achieve their personal best is a passion of mine and you can find me on weekends reading about how I can be a better servant leader to my team. I believe that as a leader, you hire the right people for the job and help them by giving them the autonomy to do their jobs the best way they can. I'm there to support them as much as I can and coach them through difficult or complex situations. Scrum methodology is very important to me in this regard. It drives the transparency, accountability and teamwork required to build highly effective teams. I am a certified Scrum Master through Scrum.org and I try to integrate it into the projects that I run, even those outside of IT and application development. I've spent a lot of time reading on this topic as well and I'm currently looking to figure out how this can best help other areas in my organization. In my current role, I am the Global Head of Technology and Infrastructure of a global private equity firm focused on mining. I lead an amazing team of four IT professionals and an application developer in support of 7 global offices in the US, Australia, Canada, Chile, and the UK. We are continually supporting change and improvements across the organization and focus on relationships with all employees in the business to increase collaboration and improve business process. This role gives me the opportunity to support the spaces where we work and help design our environment to promote even better collaboration. I've been working professionally with computers now for over 30 years. I started with building and repairing custom builds and the moved to doing helpdesk support, deskside support, system administration, network engineering, consulting and now IT leadership. I'm deeply technical with an eye for the big picture strategy of our organizational technology needs.I'm looking for connections from people who love to learn and that are looking to build relationships that are mutually beneficial.
