Responsible for strategic planning, business development, credit assessment, risk management, transaction structuring, pricing and relationship management for the Corporate Bank. Clients included local and multinationals from a diversity of industries including food, beverages, natural resources, energy, financial services, agriculture, logistics, telecommunications, and manufacturing. Customer product coverage includes Markets, Trade, Project Finance, Loans and Working Capital, Leasing and Structured Asset Finance, and Transaction Banking.In first year closed several significant transactions which dramatically improved country revenues. Worked closely with partner banks in country (Panin Bank) and AmCapital Indonesia on several projects and transactions. Developed and coached staff members who are now capable senior transactors.

Maintained responsibility for Citibank’s Corporate Bank Business in Thailand, Burma, Laos, and Cambodia and customer base of multi-nationals, top-tier local corporate entities, financial institutions, and public sector clients.Built, developed, monitored, and mentored a team of 25 relationship managers and 6 credit analysts that were responsible for products such as Cash Management, Trade Finance, Worldwide Securities Services, Project Finance, Corporate Finance, Treasury, Local and Foreign Currency Loans, and Deposits. Served as the Senior Transactor and Calling Officer for Corporate Bank Customers. Was effective in interfacing with C-level officers to ensure the highest levels of client satisfaction while maintaining responsibility for transaction structure, marketing presentation, and contract negotiation. Key player in transaction structuring, pricing, and credit mitigation in partnership with product specialists. Key contributor to the Citibank team awarded “Best Foreign Commercial Bank in Thailand” from Finance Asia in 2003. Successfully managed the WWSS business in 15 countries as a member of the management team that consisted of Country Corporate Officers, Regional Product and Customer Heads, and the Head of Asian Operations. Maintained direct management responsibility for Country Business Managers and Regional Product teams, as well as operations, risk, legal, compliance, financial control and human resources for the product group of 500 people. Spearheaded changes leading to exponential growth in assets under custody (300%), increased transaction volumes (10%) significantly expanded margins while producing substantial cost reductions, and provided a sizeable increase in revenues. Increased the automated receipt and processing of customer transactions from 50% to 92% by implementing STP (Straight Through Processing). Improved WWSS Asia’s survey rankings from 2 “Top-Rated” markets in the benchmark Global Custodian magazine in 1997, to all 15 markets “Top-Rated” in 2001. First time “Best Global Custodian in Asia” awards for The Asset and Asiamoney. Structured, priced, and led major product negotiations. Designed and instituted expansion of a product set in the region and launched Citibank’s fund administration, pension and mutual fund, and trust capability in several new markets. Authored industry articles and was a frequent speaker on the industry conference circuit. Interviewed extensively with representatives of industry magazines and national newspapers. Served as Chairman of the Hong Kong Securities Industry Group in 1999 and 2000. Appointed panel member for the Hong Kong Exchange and Clearing and co-head of a Custodian group on the Mandatory Provident Fund.

Served as Senior Relationship Manager for International Central Securities Depositories, Clearstream, and Euroclear. Built successful business relations and coordinated appropriate product specialists in anticipation of customer’s present and future product. Managed a team of 4 that included 1 relationship manager and 2 product managers. Was responsible for coaching, compensation, and career development. Received “Chairman’s Club” award for demonstrated superior marketing, credit, risk, teamwork, and relationship management skills in 1996 and 1997, the two full years as a Relationship Manager.

Responsible for nascent development of the European market targeting pension funds, insurance companies, mutual funds and investment managers for Citibank’s suite of securities services producrts. Acquired a significant share of the Dutch Pension Fund and Insurance market, Scandanavian Pension Fund and Insurance markets, Mutual Fund markets in Spain and Italy, and investment manager markets across the continent. Developed an Investment Accounting and Compliance system for WWSS Europe. Regular author of industry articles, speaker at conferences, and media representative for WWSS Europe
