Successfully managed the WWSS business in 15 countries as a member of the management team that consisted of Country Corporate Officers, Regional Product and Customer Heads, and the Head of Asian Operations. Maintained direct management responsibility for Country Business Managers and Regional Product teams, as well as operations, risk, legal, compliance, financial control and human resources for the product group of 500 people. Spearheaded changes leading to exponential growth in assets under custody (300%), increased transaction volumes (10%) significantly expanded margins while producing substantial cost reductions, and provided a sizeable increase in revenues. Increased the automated receipt and processing of customer transactions from 50% to 92% by implementing STP (Straight Through Processing). Improved WWSS Asia’s survey rankings from 2 “Top-Rated” markets in the benchmark Global Custodian magazine in 1997, to all 15 markets “Top-Rated” in 2001. First time “Best Global Custodian in Asia” awards for The Asset and Asiamoney. Structured, priced, and led major product negotiations. Designed and instituted expansion of a product set in the region and launched Citibank’s fund administration, pension and mutual fund, and trust capability in several new markets.
