The PIT (Pre-Integration Test) group is responsible for testing the operating system kernel and networking components of the Solaris system, for the upcoming major Solaris releases. The testing phase is highly automated, so the main role of the group is to analyse test results and to further develop the testing process. In addition the group develops and maintains tools for internal and external use.

Build interconnects across BT Ireland's network to create 64k – 2M PDH connections and interaction with field engineers to test circuits end to end. Mobile Telephony Testing:International testing of mobile phone accounts, conducted in conjunction with other international mobile telephony providers. This involved co-ordination of numerous testing teams to conduct the tests from numerous locations around the country. Also I conducted extensive tests from the head office of the mobile phone providers. I submitted reports of completed tests. Field support role:Installation and testing of 2M/bit wiring.Fault diagnosis and repair of PDH & SDH transmission links.1st line maintenance of GSM transceiver units.1st line maintenance of DC power systems.General support to 2G/3G field engineering staff for integration and ongoing maintenance.

Building specialized semiconductor die cutting equipment for assembly production. Installation of power transformer circuitry, testing of cable looms.Adding all components to baseframe up to unit completion.Sign off of build process and hand over to test department.Completed a project on chemical hazards in the work environment and implemented procedure for chemical handling. Project included determining how chemicals should be safely stored. Implemented a safe storage procedure. Documented all relevant health and safety information about the chemicals. Drove employee awareness campaign. Put in place access to information for all employees.
