Anthony Hammes is the Chief Compliance & Communications Officer of Seabury Asset Management, a division of Seabury Capital Group LLC, headquartered in New York, New York. Mr. Hammes joined the Seabury leadership team following the acquisition of Mepco Finance Corporation in 2017. Mr. Hammes began his career in January of 2005 at Chicago based Mepco Insurance Premium Financing, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Independent Bank Corporation (NASDAQ: IBCP). As Risk Management and Compliance Officer, in 2007 Mr. Hammes co-led the firm's transition from insurance premium financing to the industry leading payment plan provider of service contracts. In 2009 Mr. Hammes was made Assistant Vice President of Compliance and directed the firm's legal and regulatory efforts. Mr. Hammes was next appointed Vice President of Compliance & Communications in 2014. In 2023 Mr. Hammes was named Chief Compliance & Communications Officer and remains responsible for business and relationship development, reputation and crisis management, acts as liaison and coordinator for auditors, regulators, and attorneys and leads the Compliance and Communications divisions. Mr. Hammes is a 2004 high honors graduate from the University of Iowa where he majored in Business Management and Organizational Communication. Mr. Hammes is a founding member of global mental health awareness and suicide prevention non-profit, NoStigmas, and currently serves as Vice President of the Board of Directors. An avid supporter of human rights causes, he annually hosts fundraisers that support the Illinois Coalition Against Domestic Violence and has lent his image to the I AM EQUAL PROJECT and the NOH8 Campaign.
