I reviewed financial statements, ensured compliance and met virtually with small business owners in order to secure their grant funding.I also wrote, filmed, directed and produced a promotional video for GJDC highlighting their impactful work during the pandemic.

Paraguay

They say Peace Corps 'is the hardest job you'll ever love' and I find this statement quite true. Living in a small town of rural Paraguay, operating outside your cultural context and in a secondary language wasn't always easy, but it was always worth it. ENTREPRENEURSHIP:- Taught 33 community members how to draft a complete and functional business plan. 19 business plans were completed. A participant from my course won a national entrepreneurship competition, received seed funding and started his strawberry cultivation business.- Finance Director and board member of Paraguay Emprende strategic team responsible for ensuring sustainability of business plan program. Creatively managed $2,000 budget used for a national workshop and all 53 volunteer teachers' resources.COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT:- Founded 'School of Leaders' a youth leadership organization to promote the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals. - Held weekly workshops where students engaged in topics ranging from gender equality to combating corruption through making videos, writing stories and creating artwork. - Designed, directed and supervised a full-day leadership camp where 43 participants across 3 separate communities participated in activities to build teamwork and self-esteem. - Established 'Reading Club' to combat literacy issues and familiarize students with tablet technology.PROJECT MANAGEMENT:- Directed the preparation and construction of a full basketball court at a local high school. - Coordinated travel plans, transportation to the job site, homestays, meals, cultural exchange events and travel excursions while maintaining the budget on behalf of the local community and the American NGO Courts for Kids. - Completed the largest court done by Courts for Kids in record time (4 days).

Washington Neighborhood (San Jose)

I served as a business liaison to San Jose’s Washington neighborhood, a low-income, Spanish speaking community on behalf of Santa Clara University. My work culminated in writing a community assessment report detailing recommendations to Santa Clara University’s Ignatian Center and Leavey School of Business on how to more effectively serve the Washington community through outlining issues and possible solutions. I completed assessment through interviews with law enforcement, government officials, and key stakeholders in the Washington neighborhood.

PROJECT-BASED VALUATION- Determined business value of proposed projects (ex: auto-renewal, e-commerce optimization, sales booking) by identifying cost reductions and increases in revenue.- Quantified value of project through applying financial analysis techniques such as NPV and by analyzing the project’s effects on conducting business such as enhancing customer experience.INDUSTRY RESEARCH PROJECT- Conducted extensive research on the Internet of Everything (IoE) and determined which verticals and companies were best suited to capture revenue in the future.- Wrote a white paper on IoE and presented findings in a presentation to senior directors.

Jakarta, Indonesia

Lived in Jakarta Indonesia for 2.5 months working for Indonesian Institute for Energy Economics, a nonprofit, nongovernment organization dedicated to enhance energy economics studies that motivate and support national policies for prudent development and utilization of energy resources in Indonesia.Prepared travel, operational and office budgets for the IIEE in compliance with US Aid Grant and submitted them to the United States for approval, as well as monitored local sites where pico-hydro electrical turbines were installed.Gained vital international experience and acquired communication skills in dealing with foreign and other-cultural situations. Learned Bahasa Indonesia at the conversational level.
