Gecko Programmes are leading specialists in business development, project management, skills and workforce development across the UK and internationally.My role was to head the induction of our clients onto the governments 'Work Programme', outlining our responsibility to them to assist them develop their skill-set and forward their career paths into employment.I also had the role of Careers Adviser & Employer Engagement Officer, which involved me looking after 50 clients, getting them into training or employment, making links with employers within the city, securing existing vacancies and matching up the appropriate client with the relevant job opportunity. This also came with the added responsibility of liaising with my clients and their employee during the work contract period to ensure both parties were satisfied, and identify any possible additional training needs.

Contracted to oversee the marketing activity of the organisations youth event project Midnight Oil Summit. We also undertake fund raising for the organisations various projects in 2010/11.

We oversee the marketing for Gospel Link 360 CIC, mainly in the areas of Sales, Distribution, Street-level promotion and Fundraising, for its Gospel Link 360 magazine, GL Live and GL Street Team projects.To date we have been effective in raising and sourcing over £200,000 in funding for this client. This achievement has brought our organisation recognition from Arts Council England as an "extremely competent bid writing service".We have also successfully established a regional distribution network for our clients bi-monthly publication, and a regional 'Street Team' for its quarterly UK music tour, GL Live.

I was assigned to identify arts organisations, particularly from the African-Caribbean community within the geographical areas of Birmingham and Wolverhampton, that were eligible to receive the 'Future Jobs Fund' - a government fund, managed by the DWP and Jobcentre Plus, that would cover 6 months of the employers wages cost of an employee coming off Jobseekers Allowance benefits (unemployed) having previously been on it for 6 months.This role included raising awareness of the fund, checking eligibility with DWP via detailed form-filling and policy checks, assisting organisations identify a suitable employee and undertaking a post-employment review.The fund was cut by the newly elected Conservative/Liberal Democrat party.

Was given the task of re branding the organisation, achieve sales targets and train a newly recruited Sales Team.

Proceeded test trading until official launch in June 2006.Launched with the support of Business Link in Birmingham, Beye Marketing & Promotions was set up to serve the third sector, in particular church organisations, with much needed man-power and expertise in the area of effective communications.Having gained the support of local suppliers, we have provided a fully comprehensive marketing service, from concept creation to project delivery, at competitive rates, to a range of clients.

This project was the putting together of the UK's first photo-based business directory for the Black Minority Ethnic community. Based in, and serving the Birmingham area, we undertook all research, ground-level sales, marketing, photography and distribution.All client interaction and sales was undertaken by Beye Marketing & Promotions, with Hadar Communications undertaking the final process of printing the publication.

Our duties with this client was to boost the sales figures. We successfully achieved this by creating focused seasonal sales drives, alongside managing regular everyday sales activity. We also developed a customer care process system that kept us in regular contact with existing and potential customers.The clients print operation was scaled down, and in an aim to be more efficient, focused their attention on our 'local black business directory' project. We agreed to provide our sales services, in exchange for the client printing the 'directory' project.

Our major role in this project was to facilitate the marketing and sales activity of the clients 50th annual national conference, held at the well-known Brighton Convention Centre. This involved us liaising with local and national media to build the awareness of the conference, ensuring that the branding was clear and consistent, selling programme advertisement space to public sector organisations, dessigning welcome packs and producing commemorative merchandise.We succeeded in building a sense of expectation and euphoria, with the conference being well attended by both the organisations internal network and wider community.
