Anthony I. Butler is President & CEO of AIDS Interfaith Residential Services, Inc. (AIRS) & Empire Homes of Maryland.Anthony is responsible for the overall strategic and operational responsibility for AIRS & Empire Homes of Maryland, Inc.'s staff, programs, expansion, and execution of its mission of providing supportive housing in Central Maryland for formerly homeless youth and individuals living with HIV/AIDS or a mental or physical disability.Additionally, Anthony is also a management consultant who advises clients on the life-cycle of the human resources process including the development of corporate diversity strategies, the development and implementation of anti-harassment and discrimination policies, executive coaching and training, and the development of strategic recruiting initiatives. An ardent believer of service to others, Anthony serves on the board of directors of Black Girls Dive, Inc. and has served on the boards of Family & Children's Services of Central Maryland and Maryland Volunteer Lawyers Service. He also served as the Chairperson of the Maryland State Bar Association's Solo & Small Firm Section Council and the Minorities in the Legal Profession Committee. Nationally, Anthony has served the National Bar Association as a Young Lawyers Division Delegate and panelist. In the American Bar Association, Anthony was selected as a YLD Scholar and later served as Chairperson of the ABA YLD Minorities in the Profession Committee.Anthony earned his B.A. in Political Science from Truman State University and his juris doctor from St. Louis University School of Law, where he earned an Employment Law Certificate, was on the Mock Trial team, and received the International Academy of Trial Lawyers Student Advocacy Award.
