These include electrical design, production and maintenance of electrical drawings and documentation, performing risk assessments and otherwise providing technical assistance to clients within the resources sector such as Beach Energy and Santos, as well as development of connection schedules, electrical masterplans and domestic LV/HV connection design for new domestic developments for SA Power Networks (SAPN). Work undertaken & skills developed: • FEED and detailed electrical design of electrical equipment as per Australian Standards ranging from electric submersible pumps, motor control circuits, RTU and instrumentation skids, and control panels for oil and gas facilities/satellite sites including preparation of drawings i.e termination diagrams, single line diagrams, and cable schedules.• Instrumentation design and selection including datasheet development considering application-specific and hazardous area requirements.• Engagement with project managers, stakeholders from other disciplines within the engineering team, vendors and clients to support project delivery and ensure key project deliverables and outcomes are effectively delivered on time and within budget.• Involvement in projects from initial scoping, design and HAZOP, through to detailed design, construction and post-commissioning support.• Development of detailed LV/HV electrical connection designs, voltage drop calculations, and electrical connection masterplans for new domestic development projects for SAPN.

Seconded from Fyfe Pty Ltd to provide engineering support for reliability, improvement and integration works for the Kuenz Electro-Refining crane, new Robotic Cathode Stripping Machine (RCSM) and backend plant/machinery within the Electro-Refinery, Electrowinning Refinery, and Goldroom at Olympic Dam, South Australia.Work undertaken & skills developed: • Frontline reliability engineering support for fixed plant within the Electro/Electrowinning Refineries and Goldroom – in particular the Kuenz gantry crane, and Robotic Cathode Stripping Machine (RCSM).• Kuenz crane and RCSM Electro-mechanical SME - championed improvement and reliability efforts, provided technical guidance to execution teams, and ensured complex technical matters were effectively communicated to technical and non-technical stakeholders.• Produced LV electrical design and control system (Allen Bradley PLC) improvements to eliminate systematic faults and increase Kuenz crane and RCSM efficiency.• Work instruction and test procedure development for scheduled electrical inspections and repairs/replacements as part of preventative maintenance initiative.• Risk assessment and RCA workshop facilitation to ensure proposed electrical modifications were safe and reliable, and to assist with ongoing defect elimination efforts to improve plant reliability.• FMECA review performed to assess potential gaps in existing plant design to identify potential points of failure and improvement opportunities.• Bill of Materials (BoM) preparation, cataloguing of consumables and critical spares, definition of min/max stock, and development of detailed functional locations populated within SAP. • Improvement of crane cycle times and RCSM daily production rate contributed towards record copper production of 212kT at Olympic Dam in FY23.

Responsible for design and sizing of solar arrays/installations and pump/motor selection for solar irrigation solutions for the agriculture industry as well as research and development of electrical protection and storage devices, and technical guidance to Reaqua/Lorentz Australia's dealer network/clients.Work undertaken & skills developed: • Developed 3D models, electrical schematics, and manufacturing drawings for internally developed mechanical and electrical products using CAD packages such as Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD Electrical.• Co-developed a range of scalable LiPo battery storage solutions to supplement existing hybrid solutions i.e mains and AC power blending for solar submersible pump applications and a range of solar PV disconnects (protection/isolation) devices as per AS 5033.• Performed electrical testing and evaluation of failed/returned electrical products (solar inverters, VSDs, AC/DC motors and submersible pumps).• Electrical design of solar PV installations and sizing/selection of drives and submersible motors/pumps for both consumer and commercial-scale applications.• Designed large-scale solar bore pumping systems for cattle station feedstock and large-scale agricultural use throughout rural Australia and New Zealand for Reaqua’s corporate customers such as AACo.

Performing hardware modification and programming of an existing RTU (Remote Telemetry Unit) for adaption from remote location data acquisition to implementation in a long term monitoring role at Myponga reservoir, South Australia. Primary emphasis placed on implementing remote data acquisition functionality to the existing system to improve efficiency of water quality retrieval allowing for pre-emptive response to water quality issues. Ultimate aim to produce system ready for eventual SCADA integration.Work undertaken & skills developed: • Component/hardware selection and installation/wiring - including installation of DCP (data collection platforms), SOA, PSU, and sensors.• Elementary proficiency with serial communication protocols such as SDI-12 and DNP3.0 - used for high-precision SDI-12 sensors communications and master/slave network communication to facilitate eventual SCADA system integration respectively. • Experience with Campbell Scientific DCPs and associated language CRBasic.• Safe operating procedures in laboratory and pilot plant room environments/conditions.

Utilising CAD software - in particular CATIA V5 - in conjunction with machinery such as lathe and milling machines in the restoration, design and manufacturing of aviation components.Particular emphasis placed on innovative design to improve efficiency and functionality of a Luscombe Silvaire 8A small commercial aircraft for eventual production kit sale, as well as restoration of a World War 2 era P-40 aircraft based on existing aircraft wreckage and original engineering blueprints.Personal contribution consisted largely of development and management of the complex airframe assembly in CATIA, design and cast moulding of the fuel tank, as well as design and manufacturing of the wing ailerons and exterior fuselage skins including associated reinforcement rib structure.Work undertaken & skills developed• Proficiency with CATIA V5 particularly with regards to 3D design & modelling, and machining process & tooling configuration.• Further developed skills in producing and maintaining complex CATIA assemblies.• Experience with CNC machinery and associated skills such as compilation and modification of g-code.• Use of hand tools and operation of lathes, milling machines and hydraulic presses.
