Anthony R. Email and Phone Number
Anthony R. is a Community Manager | Specialized in event planning, social media and community engagment | Avid video game connoisseur at Currently Seeking Opportunities. He possess expertise in leadership, business ethics, writing, team building, social media and 44 more skills. He is proficient in Japanese. Colleagues describe him as "Anthony is a talented and highly motivated community manager, who can lift any community program to the next level. I worked close with Anthony during a time after his direct manager had left the company, during which he needed to step up to take on new responsibilities. During this time Anthony showed a lot of growth and was always dedicated to get things done. This included included the planning and execution of the competitive tournament areas for Pokémon GO Fest. Anthony excelled in his work with Influencers and community leaders, integrating them into Pokémon GO live events. Anthony also has a great track record managing the Pokémon GO partner influencer program, where he was responsible to manage relations with high profile Pokémon GO influencers. This included preparing information about upcoming features and in-game events that would be shared with them. He also collected feedback from them, and the wider community, that was shared with key stakeholders to balance game features." and "Anthony and I worked closely together on Pokémon GO in 2021. He joined as a community manager for GO Battle League, Pokémon GO's first foray into creating a competitive esports scene around the mobile game. In this role, he managed all GBL influencers, GBL tournaments, and even led the hugely successful Twitch Rivals Pokémon GO event (Twitch sang praises about it too!). As the writer/editor on Pokémon GO at the time, he was delightful to work with when it came to workshopping marketing writing, even under the super strict and tight deadlines we were all under on PGO. In addition to managing the GBL influencers, he also ended up managing the entire PGO influencer program. The global community manager left less than a year into his tenure so he inherited those responsibilities as well. We were on the same team throughout this process so I saw how resilient he was during the transition and how well he stepped into the role. He was planning Pokémon GO's first official competitive appearance at the Pokémon World Championships. PGO's done invitationals before, but this was the first time PGO GBL did an actual competitive circuit to find the best of the best to compete on the world stage alongside all other competitive Pokémon games. He worked closely with The Pokémon Company International and The Pokémon Company throughout this entire process, becoming a trusted partner and stakeholder on all things related to Pokémon GO's community, influencers, and competitive scene. This turned out to be the biggest Worlds events for Pokémon yet, and PGO's biggest stage for GBL and it wouldn't have happened if it weren't for Anthony on the Niantic side. He has a collaborative mentality (which makes him great to work with internally and with vendors), friendly and personable nature (which makes him well-liked by the influencers/creators he works with), and has both industry AND community insight (having worked in a game studio as well as running community-led FGC tournaments). He has product marketing, project management, writing and editing copy, social media management and insights, and influencer relations experience as well as a deep knowledge of the games industry (both competitive/FGC scenes and others too). He’s just a great person to talk to and work with and he’d be a great addition to any team in the industry!"
