Dr. Anthony Konya is a mining and explosive executive and engineer who has international experience in surface and underground mining including gold, silver, copper, iron, coal, diamond, sand and gravel, crushed stone, salt, phosphate, and numerous other metal/nonmetal products. Dr. Konya also has extensive experience in the heavy civil construction space having worked on dozens of major heavy civil construction projects including new building development, urban blasting, roadways and highways, locks and dams, harbor deepening, and dry dock structures. Dr. Konya’s specialty in the construction space is focused on the drilling and blasting and rock removal and he has worked on surface, underground, and underwater projects.Dr. Konya is the Chief Executive Officer of Konya Mining Company, a US based aggregates mining company. He is the President and a Principal Consultant of Precision Blasting Services, an international explosive engineering firm specializing in drilling and blasting. He is the President of Republic Blasting, a US-based drill and blast company that services both mines and construction projects. He is the President of AcademyBlasting.com, an online education platform for explosive engineers. Dr. Konya intermittently teaches university courses at the Missouri University of Science and Technology and the Colorado School of Mines. Dr. Konya also owns and operates explosive manufacturing plants, and has built plants for other clients in various parts of the world.Dr. Konya holds a BS (Summa Cum Laude) in Mining Engineering, a Graduate Degree in Explosive Engineering, a Graduate Degree in Financial Engineering, a Masters in Explosive Engineering, and a PhD in Explosive Engineering. He has authored over 100 technical publications on blasting and mining. Dr. Konya’s work experiences span all 50 states in the US; nearly all provinces in Canada; throughout South America, Europe, Africa, and Asia.
