Delivered Project for Excel "Edft-Ribbon" realtime and static data delivery to traders - Built trading tools for Excel ExcelDna plug-ins using REST data access for C# restsharp and C++/11 httplib.h and rapidjson and swagger. ZeroMq, NetMQ and KAFKA real-time data delivery. Built both client and server ends. Implemented Azure DevOps. TFS, GIT, build CD CI, unit-testing and deployment. Both x86 and x64 code.

Primo - EPE. (xVA) Worked on re-engineering of xVA Grid Valuation 10K+ nodes, to greatly enhance overnight risk calculation of XVa. Using C#, Mongo Caches, Data Synapse Grid. Looking at improving throughput by a factor of 10 or more.

Wealth Management Risk and Pricing Team Lead on system to administer and run external Hedge Fund Managers and investors. Implemented various improvements including streamlining overnight grid risk to run in 5% of existing time. Numerous BAU development and worked with head of wealth management on auditing the code's financial fees calculations.

I ran the programme (and did coding) to upgrade all Fixed Income Rates Broil software platform, ModelViewer, RiskStation, Excel Adds-Ins, risk and pricing systems, etc from XP and Office 2003 to Windows 7 and Office 2010. Rewriting where needed, Bringing apps up-to-date with use of 21st century UX, Ribbon UI, CustomTaskPanes, etc... Rework any application developed over the last 15+ years using C#, C++, VBA and my extensive knowledge of those APIs etc.Worked on FICC Rates Grid upgrade. DataSynapse 4 to 5.1 upgrade. Reworking grid service, deployment system, creating Dev/Uat and Prod grids, fixing long list of bugs reported over 2-3 years.Worked on numerous BAU projects, new Quant lib functionality integration, enhancements. Once complete department was outsourced to Luxsoft.

I was a key member of the team, I worked on the development of 3 Commodity trading systems. The existing Compass Trading System ABN Amro its RBS Sempra merged system which was aborted at the last minute by the EU. Then worked on the RBS Developed Codex system. Busy times. Systems included ETRM - Pricing, RIsk and P&L.

I worked on project to re-architected Citi's existing Equity Exotics realtime pricing / risk system from being a client server based system to a 8000+ node Platform Symphony based grid based system. Resultant system could price one of the worlds largest equity/exotics trade books every 2 minutes.I was responsible for breaking their monolithic Quant Library into a lighter weight grid engine. I implemented the CalcNode and financial C++ / c# object persistence and serialisation system from the ground up as they had bespoke containers. We also built key/value server together, this enabled us to componentise the system. In the process allowed business to substantially increase business volumes.

Built a Risk/Pricing System and Risk Data Warehouse using the Platform LSF Grid and Sybase IQ for Credit Derivatives. Data warehouse supported creation of 20 Million+ risk items overnight. C++/VBA.

Responsible for on going development of cash and payments server CAPS. C++ application running on Solaris Unix.

IBM's customer Boxman were an early online web store selling CDs in 9 countries.I architected and developed ALL the data connectivity between warehouse/sales SAP system and websites using C++, DB2 SQL, HTML and IBM Websphere.IBM/Boxman came 2nd in the Sunday Times top 100 European Websites in July 2000.

Set up European distributor for MainSoft's MS-WIndows APIs on Unix Tools. Allowed porting applications from Windows to UNIX. Mainsoft had a Microsoft Source code Licence for Windows and other applications. They ported IE, Win32/MFC, Com/DCom, and Visual SourceSafe to UNIX. We made their first sales of their product.

We were European Distributors for NeXT, XVT, EZ-RPC, tools for C, C++ and Objective C development. Grew the company at ~100+% for 4 years to seven figure turnover with no external investment. Worked with NeXT as a European Distributor selling their Tools and Operating Systems. Had lots of meetings with Steve Jobs and his teams in UK and US.Our cross platform XVT GUI tool business had 50%+ market share in a competitive market against other products like ZAPP, ZINC, Galaxy and Neuron Data. Worked at CxO level with most companies, got various FTSE companies to use our toolkits as their recommended development platform including (Barclays Bank and BT.). Won Computing's Magazines Toolkit of the year.

HSBC Trading - (James Capel) - I designed and developed the first "Windowed" real-time market marking systems on the London Stock Exchange floors and LIFFE markets. Ran on Macintosh and Windows using cross platform UI/UX Toolkit from XVT. Handled real-time - trade entry, risk, and pricing. Developed in Ansi C.

I was hired to set-up the European Macintosh Quality Assurance team. My team was responsible for the Quality Assurance (QA) and translation of all Ashton•Tate’s European Macintosh product, FullWrite, FullImpact and the FullPaint package. This work involved writing plans and schedules, general report writing, hiring staff, purchasing equipment and so on. I liaised with US Ashton•Tate developers, US Apple developers, Apple European Marketing and the other Ashton•Tate offices throughout Europe. Each application was translated into approximately eight European versions, each of which had to be thoroughly tested. During my 'gearing up' period I developed an automated Test Tool for the Macintosh liaising with key developers at Apple in the US, no such tool existed anywhere at the time. I was 100% successful but Ashton-Tate was not and aborted their Macintosh development efforts as part of their financial collapse and sale to Borland.

Mindware Ltd. produced games software for publishers British Telecom, Activision, and Microprose . We devised and wrote several games across the main 16-bit formats at the time. Mindware developed a cross platform game API in C and assembler we allowed us to produce software for a range of different systems that shared 90% of the source code. It ran on three different 68000 machines as well as 8086 based IBM PCs. The software made wide use of graphics. We implemented all primitive functions in software including various blitters, polygon drawing (convex, concave and complex), line drawing, and font rendering. On the Amiga, we interfaced to the hardware rendering functionality where appropriate. It ran on CGA and EGA on the PC without the need for two versions of the program. Similarly, it ran on the Macintosh (monochrome) and various Atari and Amiga memory map B&W and colour displays. I designed and implemented the 'WIMP' interface used by Mindware's products; Tracker was apparently the first game to be mouse driven on the PC with solid 3D graphics. This software was event-driven, with buttons, pull- down menus, scroll bars, graphics and text in windows. It was developed remotely on the IBM PC in C and Assembler, using cross compilers.

Worked on Robocom Bitstik CAD system for Apple ][ and BBC Micro Tube System. Probably the largest single 6502 assembler program ever written. Got to briefly work with Sophie Wilson Arm chip inventor.
