- Created a backend system redesign of legacy e-commerce microservice- Optimized existing monolithic back-end of an e-commerce website to handle 1,000 requests per second with low latency (<50 ms) and error rate of 0% that is launched on an AWS EC2 instance- Leveraged K6 and Loader.io to identify performance bottlenecks, then implemented caching to lower frequency of database retrieval to allow for a throughput increase of 500%- Reduced query times to database from 8,000 ms to 40 ms by reducing number of queries called using aggregate functions, pooling to handle concurrent requests, and indexing foreign keys
