I developed and supported applications used by collections for Household, developing on the mainframe (COBOL, JCL, VSAM, CICS, DB2, SAS, File-Aid, Synch Sort) and in PowerBuilder. I also used MS Office applications in my work (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Access) and Visio. Along with technical applications, I also interfaced with business partners, gathering requirements for projects in collections, and helping them with various business and technical issues.

I was a TPF Assembler programmer for Beneficial Finance, right out of the Chubb Institute. I did not learn Assembler at Chubb. Beneficial hired me anyway, and had me attend a two week training program in Assembler. I was warned against Assembler by many people, due to the fact that it is supposed to be a difficult language. But I absolutely loved it, and was disappointed that I did not have a chance to work with it longer.
