I am a software developer at heart, although I get little time at doing this nowadays. Instead, I lead a team of gifted and highly skilled individuals who enjoy this passion under my leadership. I have a keen passion for designing software systems that deliver efficiency through the use of technology and hence my speciality in designing bespoke software systems and add-ons to existing legacy systems which, very frequently, do their job right, but lack the flexibility for customisation or the ability to implement newer technologies in an optimisation exercise.My experience spans over 35 years delivering software solutions to a very wide variety of industries. This has exposed me to the business practices of each of these companies and has aroused in me a curiosity and a keen interest in business processes and their re-engineering. I frequently find myself thinking, sometimes in frustration, how a given process can be optimised for service efficiency, cost reduction, and so on; be it if I am waiting for my order at a restaurant, awaiting repairs from my suppliers or making an on-line purchase.
