As a full stack developer at Xcite, I worked on a small team of 5 developers to support 2 primary projects, the Frontline mobile app built in Kotlin with XML, and the Frontline console web app built in Typescript, Vue.js, Prisma ORM, and Postgres. The infrastructure was completely serverless, so while learning all those tools I also learned a lot about AWS tools like Dynamo, Elastic Search, Lambda, and Cloudwatch. I was able to self learn all of these tools over 11 months, keeping up with our other experienced developers with very little direct mentoring.

In my final semester of college, since I had only one class left I chose to try something new and join an undergraduate Artificial Intelligence research project. I worked with a new multimodal emotion recognition machine learning model called AudioCLIP to try and improve contextual emotion recognition in conversations. It was a difficult experience, and I worked by myself for months with technology that was primarily a blackbox.
