I make security risk something everyone in the business can understand. Before I moved into the security space, I delivered some of Australia's most well-known and innovative events and led some of our most iconic brands. I now use all of the know-how I developed in the marketing and consumer-behaviour world to translate technical threats into language that everyone in the business can understand and help reduce the 'human behavioural risk' that technological defences can't on their own. In my old world I worked closely with Oprah and John Travolta, the Wallabies, Australian Olympic Committee and even Eurovision. I've swapped those for relationships with the ASD, ACSC, ACCC, OAIC, and the eSafety Commissioner.Security threats can be largely mitigated by effective tech and systems tools. But the one threat those tools can't fully protect you from is also your biggest asset in your defence arsenal: Your people. That's why people like me have made the shift, because we understand how to influence people and help convince them to change their behaviour.
