Reporting to the SVP of Product Development. Responsible for Directing the Advanced Concepts & Systems Engineering Team (inc. Mechanical, Electrical & Systems Engineering). Providing leadership and direction to the team, key deliverables included:1. Defined and delivered innovative 'Concept Cars' to test and integrate new technologies for Cellular, M2M and Mobile Computing Products.2. Identified new M2M product opportunities to support end-to-end solutions for our customers.3. Designed and Implemented a robust but flexible working model that ensured delivery of innovative technologies, by providing an efficient, repeatable and dependable development cycle.

Responsible for the Silicon Program Management and Platform Software teams. Responsibilities include management of the IC's, HW designs and bring-up of the Integrated Platforms & Prototypes. Key deliverables included:1. Part of a small team of execs that successfully developed a half a billion dollar business case to support BlackBerry Wireless Group Technology and Custom Silicon Solution (approved by CEO).2. Development of the strategic platform roadmap with silicon partners and internal teams.3. Determined solutions and integration paths for BlackBerry products and engineering teams.4. Developed & Implemented the Platform Program Model across multiple Business Units.

Designed & Implemented several key processes that led to significant savings in both time and cost of our Prototype & Platform Development, the deliverables included:1. An internally developed centralized Project Management reporting tool used across R&D.2. Created the Platform Development Process and internal tools for automation and efficiency.

Responsible for managing all aspects of a new BlackBerry HandHeld program from concept evaluation through to initial launch, global launch and subsequent support in the field. Responsible for the global release of the BlackBerry 8700 and managed the Global variants once the first 8700 was launched with Cingular. Program managed the BlackBerry 8705 (HAC) device as well as the BlackBerry 7130 / 7135 'Candybar' programs.For these programs I managed the overall program direction, as well as leading the Software Integration Management.

Responsible for project managing the development and release of BlackBerry 4.0 software (which included RIM's own protocol stack), and integration with new product releases on the GPRS networks. In addition to the development and maintenance of overall product and project schedules, I tracked the deliverables, issues and risks from all of the teams engaged throughout the life cycle of the project typically across Product Management, Development, SV&V, SCM, IOT, FTS, Beta, Certification, Documentation, Carrier Acceptance and final release.

Responsible for overall CM, in the OmigaPlus Software Distribution Group. OmigaPlus was an end-to-end web based solution for Life and Pensions applications. Day-to-day role consisted of developing, reviewing and improving Configuration Management, Development, Build and Release processes.

Trained at the School of Fighter Control (now Aerospace Battle Management) in Aerospace Systems (ASOp), specializing in Radar Theory, Digital Data Links, Telecommunications & Spectrum, Airspace Management. Stationed in various Command & Control Reporting Centres, detachments to UKCAOC and deployment to the Royal Navy for various operations in the North Sea, Atlantic and the Caribbean (Counter Narcotics Operations and WIGS, alongside the Special Boat Service and US Coast Guard)After several years of excellent performance reviews, I pursued a career as a commissioned officer with the support of the Commanding Officer, which enabled me to participate in pre officer selection weekends, short detachments to flying sqns gaining flying experience in Harriers, Tornado GR4, Hawks, Pumas and Sea Kings with a final weekend at the Eurofighter test base. Additional learning attending courses at Cambridge University.Pre-selection results enabled me to apply for Pilot, or Fighter Control and recommended for OASC - where I was rejected due to a newly upgraded medical standards (CP3 Safe to CP2) to support newer technologies in the next gen fighters. Ironically they also applied to my current role which meant I had to move into a more strategic/tactical role.My final role in the RAF was at Strike Command HQ in the JFAC (Joint Force Air Component). This newly formed specialist unit was able to deploy anywhere in the world on 24hrs notice. Our section planned air missions for defensive and offensive aircraft, to support the execution of the Master Air Plan. We also worked with A2 - Intelligence and A5 - Air Strategy & GAT from time-to-time alongside the army and in particular the United Kingdom Special Forces (UKSF) to help with strategic planning and Mission Support.Elite leadership skills were developed and enhanced during military service in the Royal Air Force, which is recognized as one of the worlds premier leadership institutions.
