Ironically they also applied to my current role which meant I had to move into a more strategic/tactical role.My final role in the RAF was at Strike Command HQ in the JFAC (Joint Force Air Component). This newly formed specialist unit was able to deploy anywhere in the world on 24hrs notice. Our section planned air missions for defensive and offensive aircraft, to support the execution of the Master Air Plan. We also worked with A2 - Intelligence and A5 - Air Strategy & GAT from time-to-time alongside the army and in particular the United Kingdom Special Forces (UKSF) to help with strategic planning and Mission Support.Elite leadership skills were developed and enhanced during military service in the Royal Air Force, which is recognized as one of the worlds premier leadership institutions.
