I learned extensively about mechanical design from concept to product. I designed two systems to support international docking onto the ISS and assembled many systems such as NASA's VIPER Rover suspension hardware.- Assembled the developmental suspension system of NASA's VIPER Rover and created assembly instructions of the VIPER suspension system for flight hardware assembly- Supported the design of the Six Degree of Freedom Dynamic Test System at NASA which is used to test space docking systems of various companies. Specifically, I designed a system to measure the location of a six degree of freedom platform relative to each axis.

Supported NASA's EVA team in planning missions, training astronauts, and executing said missions.- Followed and supported six US ISS Spacewalks in Mission Control Center, two NBL training missions, and attended eight EVA focused classes for training. - Certified to instruct astronauts about the EMU space suit, its Caution and Warning system, operational procedures, and ISS airlock reading and operations.- Supported the development of a new software which intends to replace current means of creating space walk procedures. Supported this with real time testing of the functionality by re-creating four official EVA procedures which was then used for flight following during EVA's

Supported the design and development of three space suits (xEMU and Z2-2.5) which will be utilized by astronauts to explore the Moon and Mars respectively.- Designed and supported four GSE systems which each test various properties of the space suit. One example includes a test rig which mechanically cycled tubing with bending to simulate crew member movement, this was used to measure any particulates in the LCVG.- Trade study analysis done to investigate which xEMU requirements would drive ladder designs for planetary vehicles and structures. Created xEVA requirements and authored new ladder interface requirements.- Supported design and research to identify potential materials for the xEMU EPG which was to withstand all aspects of the harsh lunar environment and LEO.- Supported creation of a tool in Blender using robotic kinematics to visually and numerically represent how the center of gravity of crew in the xEMU changes when in different dynamic positions.

Supported the design of control systems, Wiring and fabrication of industrial sized control panels. Standard project responsibilities include generating mechanical and electrical design drawings based on client’s needs, design review, presentation of said design to client, fabrication and execution of design, and final testing/inspection of design.

Learned how the company operates by rotating to several plants around Arkansas. Developed an algorithm and coded a program using MATLAB to predict ground vibration levels of mining site explosions. Algorithm and program are now in use at all company blast-mining sites. Other position responsibilities include; large-scale surveying and mapping of future construction projects, quality control of product in a lab setting, compression testing of final product, maintenance of machinery
