I just love learning new experiences while dealing with other people. Teaching, traveling, and working on the field are my strongest capabilities, but I also like to stay grounded in my roots. Not to mention, photography gives me an excellent opportunity to see things around the region, in which those inspire me to become a better city planner. My greatest strength, however, lies with public transportation, especially on developing and managing them. I have been a commuter for a good part of my life (since I was in high school in Manila), and I have grown to love using all modes of transport, from taxis to trains, buses to boats. There is a specific reason I rely on mass transit over driving: even though I have a license, I am very committed to keeping my carbon footprint low to a point that I advocate for better residential, commercial, and industrial developments close to transit lines (if not building them from scratch). I even take home so many schedules that I visualize routes and how to reconfigure them to make them serve even more communities and develop a network that will really build better ties among cities. My education with Urban Studies and Planning has definitely helped me hone my love for public transportation that I aspire even further to acquire, not only a Masters degree, but also a Ph.D. I understand that many of my friends wanted me to become a teacher, but I've told them that I want to do this to serve others in a way not a lot of people could.

InternSan Francisco Transit Riders Union Sep 2016 - PresentSan Francisco Bay AreaBeen working on the background for San Francisco Transit Week 2017, in which I work on outreach to volunteers at my former school and arranging a ferry tour on the last Saturday of September. I got here when I first attended San Francisco Transit Week 2016, in which I got to volunteer and share ideas on how to make transit better in San Francisco. Also worked on Transit Week in 2017 and 2019, in which I have earned Volunteer Awards. Now working on developing the 29R-Sunset Rapid through extensive research, data gathering, and outreach. And oh, Sunday Streets too. -
Contributing Staff Writer And PhotographerTransportica Sep 2016 - Jul 2017What I did Transportica included covering events pertinent to transportation developments, especially mass transit. I also do photography to document such events, and that's on top of me taking pictures as a hobby and building my library for future use.

InternProject Rebound Jan 2012 - May 2015San Francisco State UniversityWhat started as a volunteer math tutor, I have evolved to become a hybrid tutor-teacher teaching Statistics in a seminar format at San Francisco State University in Summer 2012. In just three seminar sessions, the students love my teaching, they wanted to extend it through the Fall towards Christmas. And the rest has been history.

InternCalifornia Public Interest Research Group Aug 2014 - Apr 2015The responsibilities I had to work on at CALPIRG included writing letters to the editor, organizing lists of politicians and donors, phone banking and outreach, analyzing Congressional districts where our campaign would make the greatest impact, and working alongside fellow interns on how to make the Get Money Out of Politics campaign stronger. The most wonderful result of my internship was the fact that I've got several letters to the editor published on a few Californian newspapers, including the Los Angeles Times, Marin Independent Journal, and the Sacramento Bee. -
InternUc Berkeley Jun 2011 - Dec 2011Berkeley, CaWorked at SafeTREC (Safe Transportation Research and Education Center) as a transportation safety intern, focusing on pedestrian safety. I dealt with counting pedestrians and vehicles on the university's main arteries, as well as dealing with busy intersections around the campus. I also worked on analyzing data and making recommendations on how to improve pedestrian and vehicular safety at intersections around UC Berkeley.
