Simply spelled: N-E-W. I was born an orphan in South Korea, adopted then raised in Minnesota, and am a United States Military Academy Graduate.I am the oldest of six children whose names all start with the letter “A.” Our father worked the nightshift operating a warehouse forklift for 35 years and our mother provided in-home daycare services while we were growing up. Sharing, teamwork, and kindness were taught, modeled, and necessary survival skills (especially with one bathroom and four sisters)!“Never before have I seen someone achieved so much with so little God-given (athletic) talent,” is how my 31-year-veteran high school football and track coach, science teacher, described my sound judgement and work ethic in a letter of recommendation for my application to West Point/USMA.
