As an engineering graduate with passion and experience in anatomical and medical sciences, my goal is to find a way to bridge the gap between engineering and medicine. My path began in engineering, where I specialized in chemical and biological engineering. Here, I recognized an insatiable curiosity to continually learn and problem solve by applying engineering concepts to new and complex situations. Throughout this process, I took a course in human anatomy and physiology, where I discovered another passion. I spent the remainder of my engineering degree perusing this curiosity, resulting in many years of work at McMaster’s Education Program in Anatomy.Working in anatomy - specifically in teaching anatomy to the engineering student - provided me with my first experience with the barriers many engineering students face when trying to connect concepts of engineering with concepts of medical sciences. Throughout my years, I saw trends of frustration in these students as information was presented in a manner that they found disengaging and independent to their field of study. Resulting in the students struggling to intertwine these fields. These experiences have brought me to a particular niche - a chemical and biological engineering graduate with a masters in medical science and a passion for education. Due to this diversity, there are numerous avenues I could pursue to attain a fulfilling career. Currently, I am open to exploring opportunities in engineering, medical sciences, or education. My ultimate goal is the find a fulfilling career that allows me to connect my experiences in a productive manner and to aid in creating a more seamless connection between engineering and medicine.
