Anthony Pisapia has spent 20 years leading schools and social benefit organizations. At the crossroads of technology and education, he has worked with volunteer boards to attain extraordinary results and unlock human potential through life-changing education programs and school design. As Founding Head of School at Zip Code Wilmington, an ongoing and successful nonprofit coding school and job-force training program that partners with corporations such as JPMorgan Chase, Capital One, Barclays, and Bank of America to train and place software developers, Anthony developed the school’s innovative business model offers training to students at little or no cost and raising the income potential of graduates 100% on average upon graduation, recouping costs through placement fees paid by corporate partners. Pisapia was Associate Executive Director at Tech Impact, a nonprofit technology company started with support from Microsoft. Mr. Pisapia grew that organization from a nascent nonprofit serving 30 organizations in Philadelphia to a global thought-leader that, today, has trained and supported thousands of nonprofits and nonprofit leaders, teaching them to leverage technology for their organization’s missions. While at Tech Impact, Pisapia started the ITWorks program, a technology workforce training program focused on helping at-risk young adults break the cycle of poverty. Over 1000 graduates have been trained and placed by ITWorks. Pisapia completed his Master’s Degree in Education with a focus on Independent School Leadership at the University of Pennsylvania. He earned dual Bachelor’s degrees from the University of Delaware, a certificate in Nonprofit Management from the University of Delaware, and a certificate in Fundraising from Villanova University. Mr. Pisapia is a skilled fundraiser, having earned the Certified Fundraising Executive designation by raising millions of dollars in support of various causes. He currently serves as Board Vice President at Startup Africa, an organization that provides entrepreneurship education to young people in over 30 countries.
