Zip Code Wilmington was named one of the best coding schools in the country in 2017 by Course Report, a mantle it has maintained since. It was the winner of the 2015 Pete duPont Freedom Award. Leading the start-up effort for Wilmington's first coding school, and one of the first nonprofit coding schools in the country, Zip Code Wilmington. The organization is comprised of two components: 1) a software development training school in downtown Wilmington 2) an apprenticeship program that launches new careers in coding immediately upon graduation. Zip Code, was, a business within a business, as students paid a minimal amount and the bulk of revenue was delivered to Zip Code by placement fees once the graduate got a job. Getting graduates jobs is something Zip Code is very good at.Zip Code’s aim is to give students an experience that will fast-track them into a great career, at a great salary. At the same time, it helps meet the critical need among area corporations for software developers, especially in Java and .NET.Alliances with area companies, some of which are household names, has helped create a curriculum that is world-class. Zip Code produces graduates that are ready for the real world and ready to launch their careers.

Tech Impact (formerly NPower PA) was founded with support from Microsoft to provide tech support and services to nonprofit organizations.Concurrently with my position as Founding Head of School at Zip Code Wilmington, I was Associate Executive Director at Tech Impact. Over 11 years, I helped build Tech Impact into a global organization which now serves thousands of nonprofits in 40 states and 9 countries each year. I led the organization’s expansion into Delaware in 2009, its expansion into California, Las Vegas Nevada, and its global expansion in 2012. I built the program excellence necessary to win the prestigious Bank of America Neighborhood Builders Award. I started the ITWorks program which has led to over $14 million in positive economic impact since it began in 2009. The program has changed the lives of over 1,000 at-risk young adults by launching them into careers in technology.

As NPower PA changed into Tech Impact, I led advancement as well as the founding of ITWorks, an adult education program focused on high school graduates at high risk for lifelong poverty. ITWorks was a passion of mine, training young adults in IT and launching their careers remains a pride point for me. The program grew from Philadelphia, to Wilmington Delaware, and eventually to Las Vegas Nevada. Tech Impact's influence during this time also grew. I launched npCloud, the first iteration of our cloud services portal. This later became Tech Impact's core service offering. We began gaining clients globally through my efforts.

Moving into the lead fundraising role for NPower PA (now Tech Impact), I took on grant writing, volunteer management, and helped establish Tech Impact's CIO Advisory Board. We won major grants from leading foundations in the Philadelphia area during my tenure: William Penn Foundation, Rohm and Haas Foundation, Microsoft Foundation, and The Philadelphia Foundation, among others. I also led communications for the organization, gaining us thought leadership in the nonprofit technology space nationally.

One of the core members of the team as NPower PA (later Tech Impact) was first launching. Started with a grant from Microsoft, NPower PA had just 30 clients when I arrived. This would grow to thousands by the time I left. This was the first sales position for NPower PA, bringing the message of our services to the Philadelphia nonprofit community. It involved creating NPower PA's first promotional materials, working the phones, making sales presentations, and finding nonprofits in need of our service.

It immerses participants in leadership development and business skills through sessions with CCL faculty and American Express senior executives, including Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Kenneth I. Chenault and Mayor Mike Bloomberg. I am proud to have been chosen as one of 24 participants nationally for the inaugural class.

Founder of the Music School. Duties included teacher supervision, hiring of teachers, sales, marketing, administration, parent relationships, student scheduling. Instructed guitar and vocal lessons.

Recording assistant on major projects including all recordings of the World Cafe with David Dye, Y100's Sonic Sessions, Q102's Behind the Beat, and several major label projects. Worked artists includingThe Counting Crows, Patti Labelle, Beck, John Mayer, Puddle of Mudd, The Goo Goo Dolls, Neil Finn, Jimmy Eat World, Sum 41, Art Garfunkel, and Elvis Costello.

Responsibilities included assisting in communications and marketing, collaborating with theaters on joint promotions, and acting as a liaison between the Alliance and members. Responsible for all radio marketing, including script writing. Managed the box office for the StageTix discount ticket program and the Barrymore Awards Ceremony. Event management assistance and fundraising assistance.
