I serve as deputy general counsel and compliance counsel for Jake’s 58 Casino Hotel, operated by Suffolk OTB, a NY Public Benefit Corporation. I have extensive experience in litigating and defending employment class action lawsuits, as well as a wide variety of organized labor and employment related disputes for both plaintiffs and defendants. One of my most notable litigations was Vargas v CallAHead Corp, 15-cv-5101, a 1,300 plaintiff lawsuit against the largest portable toilet operator in the City of New York. I was instrumental in obtaining $7.1 million for the plaintiffs. Seeing small business owners struggle with the myriad of employment and labor laws, as well as the general business climate in NY and on Long Island, my friend Abraham and I partnered in Hamra Law Group where I helped business owners in all areas of dispute resolution as well as compliance and litigation matters to help protect their businesses. With my extensive litigation as well as labor and commercial litigation experience, I was offered a once in a lifetime opportunity to move in house to NY’s most successful downstate Video Lottery Terminal (“VLT”) operator, Jake’s 58 Casino Hotel. In this role I am responsible for a wide array of contractual, labor relations, litigation, and general business contracts, as well as compliance matters.
