Anthony began working at Ballard Power Systems in 1998, as a temporary employee, after graduating from BCIT Avionics. He ended up staying at Ballard for twelve years. Initially he started working in the Membrane Electrode Assembly (MEA) area where he quickly learned all manufacturing processes and became a member of the first High Performance Work Team (HPWT) in that area and was offered full-time employment. After approximately 6 months he applied for the Fuel Cell Testing and Assembly where he subsequently worked for a few years doing assembly and final Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) on completed fuel Cells. Designs were Mk5 (for buses such as BC Transit), Mk 6000 (Stationary Power), Mk 9 and Mk7 (Automotive Power), and Mk10 (compact power/ portable power).He became one of the Test Station Support Technicians that were front-line troubleshooting, repair, and calibration of the FAT test stations generally supporting up to 120 KW power fuel cell test stations. Anthony was promoted at Ballard Power Systems to an Equipment Maintenance Technologist where he took on the responsibilities of learning more equipment used in the manufacture of Fuel Cells.A few highlights of problems resolved or mitigated are:- Less Loadbanks failing as cause of inadequate cooling identified and addressed (an ongoing problem that cost the company many hours of downtime and thousands of dollars)- Dampened air supply pressure problems that were affecting leak test results by adding additional pressure regulator as a buffer at each tester.- Automating cooling drain\fill for fuel cells under test to address high conductivity unplanned shut-downs (which were causing time delays in testing).- Reducing Solid State Relay failures by adding additional cooling (fans).Skills:Electrical / mechanical maintenance, troubleshoot, repair & calibration Safety WHMIS, teamworkBasic PLC ProgrammingDeveloped Work Instructions for Mk6000ISO 9001 & ISO 14001 QS
