This position was the foundational role, designed to facilitate Culture Change in the leadership style of the company through Climate, Values, Behaviors and Employee Engagement utilising Motivational Leadership, Empowerment, and Development. Following great success in this role, I was given the opportunity to further develop my competencies in the various roles listed, eventually becoming the senior Manufacturing Coach for Machining, Engine Assembly, and Manufacturing Engineering across 4 significant factory sites at the Peterborough Facility.Roles covered Majors Machining, 3 and 6 Cylinder Engine Assembly, full accountability for achieving Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost expectations through a multi-functional team including Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, Apprentice Development, Toolroom and Welding Support teams etc. spanning a $30m budget; c500+ headcount in both operational and transactional areas covering skilled and non-skilled.My achievements led to a major turnaround in the operational performance of the business to such a degree that it supported significant investment in new machining facilities on-site. I was instrumental in the relationships with the Trade Union, working closely with both Leadership and the Unite the Union on-site Convenor to introduce new working practices, grades, recognition, and people strategies, inclusive of nationally recognized qualifications. I was also responsible for the site apprenticeship program delivering a talent pipeline of 40+ skilled engineers and technicians through the ongoing annual cycle, inclusive of relationship responsibility with the off-site training providers.
