Anthony Rowe is an artist and designer with some 25 years’ experience in digital media art.In 1997 he founded internationally recognised collaborative arts practice Squidsoup, where he is director and creative lead. Squidsoup’s installations are exhibited internationally on a regular basis, with exhibitions within the last year alone at prestigious venues and events in the UK, Norway, Netherlands, France, Mexico, Australia and New Zealand.Squidsoup has permanent exhibits in the UK, US, Norway and New Zealand, and has received broad recognition including honorary mentions at Ars Electronics honorary mention (2017), Prix FILE LUX (2010) and a Bafta nomination (2002).Anthony's PhD, entitled “Immersion in Mixed Reality Spaces”, was completed at Oslo School of Architecture and Design in 2015. Prior to this, he was Associate Professor, Interaction Design at the same institution, where his responsibilities included strategy and coordination of the taught masters curriculum in Interaction Design. Prior to working with digital media, I worked as an engineer, illustrator, travel photographer, teacher of English as a foreign language, flamenco guitarist and long distance single-handed sailor - I broke an obscure world record for crossing the Atlantic alone.
