Summer Projects:- Responsible disclosure Policy survey – Responsible disclosure refers to the release of vulnerability information to the public in regards to enterprise and consumer based products. This project deals with finding the consensus in the market place for what responsible disclosure means; how long before we release the information to the public, what information is released, and do we have a solution to the problem when we release the notification.- Router Vulnerability Web facing database- With today’s constant network attacks, Vendors are still selling routing products to consumers that are full of holes security wise and are not secure out of the box. This project is meant for consumers to use to educate themselves on what products they should purchase and what security should mean to them. The goal is to make security one of their priorities when buying these network products.- Building of CVSS version 3 and CWSS calculators- The Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) is one of the main tools used by the Vulnerability Analysis team here at CERT and other Vulnerability Researchers to evaluate vulnerabilities in a common standard. This year version 3 of CVSS came out adding more evaluating criteria and functions. I had the pleasure of programming this new calculator for the team to use in evaluating Vulnerabilities. The Common Weakness Scoring System (CWSS) is another vulnerability calculator that is not as widely used but is starting to be linked in to compare with CVSS scores. I also programmed the calculator for the team.
