Based in Greensboro, NC, conducted federal criminal investigations regarding financial fraud and public corruption relating to mortgage loans, public housing authorities , and other housing assistance programs throughout North Carolina and beyond. Investigations often involved local departments of social services and other federal domestic assistance programs, and as such, frequent coordination with local, state, and other federal agencies. Provided anti-fraud training to managers, case workers, program integrity investigators, legal assistants, and other employees of public housing authorities, departments of social services, and law firms throughout North Carolina. Detailed from HUD/OIG and based at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC), Glynco, GA. Worked with a team of other detailed special agents and support staff to manage, coordinate, and instruct investigative training programs designed for the over 11,000 Special Agents and others employed by over 60 different federal OIGs. As Program Manager for the IG Investigator Training Program (ITP) and others, duties included the development, design, and scheduling of one- to four-week training programs, as well as individual courses lasting one to four hours each; presentation of over 80 individual blocks of instruction to over 30 different classes totaling more than 600 basic and advanced students; and management of over 10 classes totaling over 200 basic and advance students. In addition to course presentation and development, facilitated the learning of assigned table groups, teams, and individuals by observing and providing feedback during practical exercises. Major accomplishment included the re-design of the current IG ITP through task analysis, elimination of training redundancies, and a focus on the development of new and necessary skills. The result was the reduction of the IG ITP from four weeks in FY04 to three in FY05, equaling a projected savings of almost 4,600 training hours.

Based in Chicago, IL, conducted or assisted with a variety of finanical fraud and violent crime investigations occurring in the northern judicial district of Illinois relating to mortgage loans, public housing, and other housing subsidy programs. Participated in the design and roll-out of a new Lotus Notes-based information management system, AutoInvestigation; provided radio maintenance and training as the midwest district's Radio Coordinator; and became a Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). Acted as Assistant Special Agent in Charge (ASAC) and assisted with the supervision and training of junior Special Agents.
