Contributions include:• Served as Delegate for Kathleen Wynne’s election as Premiere – helped in major initiative to drive reforms impacting the Ontario College of Trades (OCOT)• Worked diligently to secure election of union-friendly candidates to build relations and shape policy – efforts played a major role in the successful repeal of the contentious union financial disclosure Bill C377

Secured regulatory licensing and guided the entire communications and business development strategy for the start-up Canadian operations of a $billion U.S. mortgage insurance company. Directed all licensing, branding, communications and marketing to establish a footprint in the Canadian market. • Helped promote the company’s value proposition, brand positioning, key messaging, and worked closely with an external agency to develop all marketing and sales collateral• Secured preliminary Federal and provincial licensing against aggressive competitive activity and established key relations with CIBC, BMO, RBC, TD Canada Trust, and other institutions in the market• Key point of contact for all federal, provincial and regulatory bodies including FISCO, OSFI and others• Credited with successfully positioning the company for National-wide launch before the 2008 sub-prime mortgage crisis in the U.S. forced closure of the U.S. parent

For nearly 17 years I held the position Chief of Staff to various Government of Canada Ministries including National Defence, Civil Preparadness, Veterans Affairs and Canadian Heritage. In most instances I served in a second in command role with responsibility for internal policy development, budgets and staff management. • Held the top role under the Associate Minister of National Defence during a critical year post-9/11 - managed 10+ department staff and controlled a $billion+ department budget.• Acted on behalf of the Minister in liaison with the Prime Minister’s office, other Minister’s Chiefs of Staff, and senior department officials to strengthen relationships and address government-wide issues• Contributed to the foundation of the country’s first full-scale Homeland Security department • Played a key role in the passing of the 2005 Veteran’s Charter, the most significant change in veteran affairs since WWII • Spearheaded the strategy that secured over $1 billion in new funding for the Ministry during an economic slowdown• Played an influential role in the 2004 review of Canada’s Firearms legislation – conducted intense negotiations over a 6-month period, liaised with multiple levels of government, and managed all media relations for a politically and socially contentious issue
