I am an Exercise physiologist and founder of More Watter co. , a healthy company that uses exercise, community and lifestyle to improve health outcomes for people with chronic conditions, specifically within Baltimore City. Our holistic and comprehensive exercise as medicine program has been refined over the years while benefitting from mentors participating in the Baltimore Corp Elevation Awards (‘19), Johns Hopkins Social Innovation Lab incubator program ('20), and the Innovation Works/Miller Center for Social Entrepreneurship accelerator program (ongoing since '21-). In addition, we recently completed the University of Maryland Medical System Capacity Building Program ('22). I have a MBA from The John Hopkins Carey Business School with a concentration in health, technology, and innovation. I was able to develop critical skills in leadership, strategy, and consulting. I worked with teams of students to develop impactful solutions for large companies like AARP, Spin, Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Lab, and Johns Hopkins University. I have B.S. in human performance and sports medicine from Howard University and a M.S. in Exercise Science from McDaniel College. While at Howard, I worked at Medstar National Rehab Hospital in Washington D.C., where I assisted physical and occupational therapist to rehabilitate stroke and brain trauma patients.I developed a novel post rehab exercise program at Medstar Good Samaritan Hospital for patients with neurological and/or complex conditions in 2018. The program aimed to progress movements re-learned in physical and occupational therapy to help patients become more functional as well as improve cardiovascular function. We were able to raise $20,000 in funding from the Parkinson’s Foundation and The Maryland Association for Parkinson’s Support to expand our programming and develop a continuum of care program that connects people with Parkinson’s with all the resources they need to stay healthy and slow the progression of the diseaseI am also the co-founder of It Takes One Inc. A nonprofit organization that aims to give scholarships to Baltimore City Public high school seniors. Since its inception in 2016, It Takes One Inc. has grassroots fundraised close to $25,000 and given away 10 scholarships.
