• Led the communications, PR, media relations and outreach that helped establish Evergreen as a world leader in urban sustainability. Defined the strategy to establish the brand, tell its unique story, build awareness.
• Created and executed a multi-platform communications strategy directly aligned to Evergreen’s 4-pillar mission
• Generated major earned media features with Financial Times, National Geographic (2x), CBC, Global Television, CTV and others – achieved 1000+ domestic and international articles/broadcasts in 2013 alone generating over.
• Cultivated key strategic partnerships with local, national and International entities to expand exposure, advance sustainability agenda, increase media attention, build loyalty and increase overall brand awareness

Strategized, pitched and developed media relations, sponsorship and corporate social responsibility messaging for an existing portfolio of corporate clients including P&G, Canadian Management Centre and others.

Amsterdam

• Directed internal/external communications, marketing, CSR and sponsorship activity for this €6 billion global corporation with 20,000 employees across 20 countries. Recognized for implementing many critical “firsts”.
• Built their 5-year strategic communications plan to standardize the messaging internationally and launch their corporate social responsibility program
• Created and championed new corporate social responsibility practices, and tracked progress against 15+ United Nations Indicators the Global Reporting Index
• Managed principle sponsorship properties with WilliamsF1 Formula One Race Team, Clipper ship StadAmsterdam and the round-the-world Volvo Ocean Race
• Provided communications counsel to the executive team and board of directors, identified media and event opportunities and provided key messaging, speaking notes, etc.
• Introduced the first internal employee survey distributed to 20,000 staff in 20 countries speaking 13 languages

Fontainebleau, France

• Led a series of executive sustainability roundtables and workshops that laid the foundation for the emerging Centre for the Management of Environmental and Social Responsibility. Efforts ensured INSEAD’s commitment to.
• Developed case studies and conducted interviews on salient CSR and tech issues with Oracle, EDF, Siemens, Unilever and others – Oracle cases won European Case Clearing House Award (2004)

Paris, France

• Served as stakeholder liaison/communications officer on global sustainability issues for the UN. Highlights include:
• Developed 10 papers presented at the Rio+10 World Summit on Sustainable Development in Johannesburg and organized high-level events in South Africa, Paris and New York
• Wrote articles and served as Guest Editor for the UNEP Newsletter, authored and edited key publications including “Financing Sustainable Energy”

Gatineau, QC (Ottawa)

• Developed strategic communications tools for government Ministers and senior management on critical environmental issues, and served as the point of contact for media, stakeholders and partnering government offices.
• Developed all communications for Canada’s negotiating position on international air quality issues
