As the 3rd Officer, I held the responsibility of all safety equipment on board the vessel, ensuring that it was maintained and in good working condition and ensuring that the Captain was informed about any upcoming shore-based maintenance needs. During port operations, I assisted the Chief Mate in loading and discharging the vessel, updated loading plans, stability programs, performed ballast operations and conducted inspections to ensure that cargo was properly secured and lashed. While at sea, I stood navigational watch, ensuring safe passage to our destination.
