About Antje Linow

Having a father who is a building engineer, I have been working on building sites during the school holidays since I was 15. Building sites meant outdoors, being active and not sitting in the office all the time. Getting my Building Engineering degree at the now renamed Bauhaus University in Weimar was a natural progression. Working in architectural design in combination with my structural engineering knowledge served me well during my professional career as a Design Engineer.It was a great adventure and very satisfying, leading a team of architectural Design Engineers and Drafters for over 10 years. Taking the big step to move from Germany to New Zealand was scary, but also exciting. Finding a job in façade cladding moved me to a different aspect of building design and with the subsequent move to façade joinery as a Project Manager for a window fabricator, I went deeper into this field of expertise. A secondment to Fletcher Aluminium in 2011 extended my knowledge of aluminium joinery design and led to a permanent position there in 2012. A certification in joinery and glazing widened my practical knowledge. The merger of FA and Nalco in 2016 as Altus led to the position of the Senior Technical Support Engineer in the Technical Support Team and a broadening of responsibilities.
