Material scientist from EPFL, Switzerland, I'm specialized and mainly interested by the composite materials (fiber-reinforced polymer), from processing to testing.Controlling all the steps between semi-products to final samples is a big challenge, involving many measurement types. From DSC for the calorimetry and the kinetic analysis, through fiber optics sensing to follow strains during processing and mechanical testing, this wide and varied playing field is fascinating. Even more if it is in collaboration with sailing projects!After a very challenging job as fiber optic manager for Artemis Racing in the 34th America's Cup campaign, I've started to work as a self-employee in the Fiber Optic measurement field. Since March 2014, I stepped back in the Amercica's Cup world restarting the fiber optic department for Artemis Racing for the AC35 and ran another very full and interesting campaign.The AC35 is now finished, I'm looking for new challenges and interesting projects.Sailed since very young, from little dinghy sailing to World and European championship for Switzerland in 420 class. Had to calm down high level sailing by the university, but I kept going on monohulls and catamaran racing, Starting for exemple a project on M2-class catamaran in Switzerland (28' catamaran) in 2009 and 2010.Specialties: Composite material processing, mechanical testing and analysis:- DSC and cure kinetics- fiber optic sensing (FBG), for mechanical applications and cure monitoring- all sort of mechanical tests to characterize the composite properties
