I am ready to answer at your project requests, helping you to instrument, test and extract quality information that will bring your project further.I have a great experience in designing and implementing fiber optic instrumentations ( and especially on or in composite structure), I have a complete set of mechanical testing instruments for precise and heavy testing, and a good network of supplier and skillful partner technical companies.I've been working with Micron Optics / Luna for more than 10 years now, and I've been very contented by the quality and the capacities of their instruments. I have used mainly their FBG based instruments because of the scope of my field, but I also been able to test their ODiSi technology for a mechanical test. Interesting!

This is a wrap, 3rd America's Cup cycle! From the outside the boats are really different, but the technology behind and the interests have been similar to previous cycles. The experience gathered in instrumenting sensible parts since 2011 allowed us to conduct a good measurement campaign, and I could develop further the mechanical testing procedures and models exploitation. Great work relationship with many colleagues! But brutal campaign and obviously, the result on the score board is not reflecting the level of commitment we did put in that project.

San Francisco Bay Area And Bermuda

The AC35 has been an intense and interesting journey, spread between California and Bermuda. A lot of constructive interactions between the designers, builders and users, some good developments done, and it looks like, good results along the way!For this America's Cup, we have built on the experience from the AC34, pushed it further and developed a very good testing and calibration system. The boat being lighter and smaller, we had to simplify the system in comparison of the AC72 system. Less in number of pieces, but information where it matters.

Hundreds of fiber optic sensors have been installed to monitor the keys and sensitives parts of the two AC72 and 3 wings. The FBG technology has been used for its great precision and reliability of data.Raw strains readings have been obtained for sure, but more complete data processing have given key info to the structural and CFD designers.Self management of the project after several months under the managment of Daniele Costantini (Micron Optics) for the launching. I have finally requested a co-worker for the 5 last months, to help me with this very pushing position. Have worked on research projects of the Véronique Michaud 's Smart Composite group of the Laboratory of Polymer and Composite Technology, Institute of Materials , EPFL.Specially on these projects:- Damping of carbon composite with SMA wires. Research project in the DREAM European project.- Research and scientific support for the Hydroptère (www.hydroptere.com), Alinghi and other composite projects.- Internal stresses measurements with optical fibers in CFRP, during processing or as a strain sensor

Last period of civil service (for 6 monthes). Working on a project of Facility Management for the institution, creating a new data base for the facility management.

Research project at the Laboratory of Polymer and Composite Technology of the EPFL.It was a feasibility study for a longer research on the improvement of a polyurethane coated steel belt for lift industry.
